Office 365 to Office 365 Migration for Switching Plans

Switching Plans through Office 365 to Office 365 Migration

Any of the plans unavailable in the list of switch plan wizard as ‘Plans eligible’ can be switched manually. The procedure of manually switching plans demands purchasing – new plan, reassigning/assigning – licenses, and finally; cancellation of earlier plan.

IMPORTANT NOTE

  • Once you have switched into a plan that belongs to a different service family; as listed above, you cannot switch back to the old one.
  • The requirement to backup up entire information that belongs to the company prior to switching your plans is necessary.
  • If a vanity domain is owned; user will need to firstly take it out from their Office 365 then, all over again add it back once plans have been switched completely. This will involve putting your services on a planned downtime.

Switch Plans Manually: Office 365

Removing License of an Office 365 User

  • Go to Admin followed by Office 365 and then to Users and groups.
  • Tick the checkbox for the users whose license has to be removed.
  • Click on Edit and go to Licenses.
  • On Assign License page tick on the checkbox for license that to be removed.
  • Click on Save.

WARNING: When removing a license from any user, its entire data associated with the respective user for the service will be deleted and later; post the grace period i.e. of 30 days the deleted data wouldn't be recoverable anymore except for the documents that were saved on the SharePoint Online. Once the 30 days duration passes deleted mailbox and its items will be permanently lost.
