Separate Google accounts in Same Browser

If there are multiple profiles in the same browser, there are various ways to distinguish them. One of them is to create a distinct Chrome profile

  1. Run Chrome browser and click the profile picture or icon name.
  2. At the bottom of the menu, click Add Chrome Profile.
  3. Press the Sign in button and enter the credentials of another Google account.
  4. With this, a new browser window will open. Provide a name and color theme.

If you have accounts that you no longer want. Remove them with these steps

  1. Go to any Google service and click on the profile picture.
  2. Choose the Sign out of all Accounts option. Then, on the Google sign-in page. Hit Remove an account.
  3. Click the Remove icon next to those accounts you want to remove.
  4. Sign back in to only the accounts you want to keep.

Some users want to stop sharing the browser data of accounts. So, you can disable sync for a specific account.

  1. In Chrome, click the Profile icon.

Split Google Accounts from Android Phones

In mobile devices, users can add multiple Google accounts, which allow them to access personal and work data from their phones or tablets. But the same with desktop, having multiple accounts on mobile can be hectic. So, here are the solutions to split your account from Android.

If you don’t want a particular account on your mobile, then remove it with these steps.

  1. Go to Android settings, scroll down, and click Passwords & Accounts, Accounts, or Users & Accounts.
  2. Choose the Google account that you want to remove.
  3. Hit Remove Account and select the option.
  4. Provide device PIN, passwords, or authentication that you need.

You can create a separate user profile on Android by following these steps.

  1. In the Settings, go to the System. Then, Multiple Users or Users.
  2. Toggle on Multiple Users, then click Add User.
  3. Provide a name for the new profile and set it up.
  4. Sign in with a different Google account for this profile.

Some users have to keep multiple accounts, but limit the data synchronization

  1. Go to the Settings app and click Accounts or Passwords & accounts option.
  2. Choose the Google account you want to modify.
  3. Then, click Account Sync and check the available sync option.
  4. Disable your sync for services.

Keep Multiple Google Accounts Away from iPhone/iPad

Similarly to Android, if you want to separate an account from an iPhone. Here are the solutions you can use.

Remove a specific Google account from Gmail App

  1. Run the Gmail app on iPhone or iPad. Click the profile picture in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose Manage Accounts on this Device. Find your Google account that you don’t want.
  3. Hit the Remove from this device button. Confirm the decision. And wait for Gmail to remove the account.

Users can separate the Google accounts in Google Apps by following these steps.

  1. Run any Google app and click Profile picture.
  2. Review the accounts that you are currently signed into.
  3. Select Mnage Accounts on This Device.
  4. Remove your account that you no longer need and keep only those you want.

How to Separate Google Workspace Account?

The above methods are for splitting your Google accounts. But if you have multiple Google Workspace accounts and want to separate your account, it is much different than than the above ways. Here, simply removing the account from the browser or mobile device is not enough. As an organization, you have to create a new account and then move the data and ownership from the existing account to the new one.
