# Method 1: Learn How to Configure Office 365 Emails in Thunderbird Manually

1. To start the configuration process open the Mozilla Thunderbird application on your Windows system.

2. If you do not have an account, then first create a new Thunderbird profile. Otherwise, if you have a Thunderbird account, then follow the below steps sequentially.

3. Navigate to Tools options situated in between Events and Tasks & Help. After that, from the Tools drop-down menu, select the Account Settings option.

4. A new Account Settings page pop-up on the Thunderbird interface. Now, you need to click on the Account Actions drop-down button. Next, select Add Mail Account option from the resultant list.

5. A new Mail Account Setup page opens, mention the name, Office 365 ID, and the password associated with it in the appropriate boxes, and click on Continue to start adding Office 365 account to Mozilla Thunderbird.

6. Now, if you directly click on the Done button, then definitely you will get an error. So, first, click on the Manual Configure button.

7. A new Mail Account Setup page opens on the screen. Now, you need to mention the following below- mentioned information in the appropriate boxes:

Incoming: IMAP | outlook.office365.com | 993 | Autodetect
Outgoing: SMTP | outlook.office365.com | 587 | Autodetect

8. Once you fill in the configuration right information, click on the Re-test button. After that, click on the Done button.
9. Adding Office 365 account to Mozilla Thunderbird starts. Now, wait for some time till the process completes.
10. If you want to view a folder more than Inbox and Trash, then right-click on Office 365 ID present at the left panel. Now, select the Subscribe option to view other O365 folders.

# Method 2: Add Office 365 Email to Thunderbird Faster with Software Solution

Steps to Import Office 365 MBOX Files to Thunderbird 

Step 1. Open Thunderbird email client. Configure your account and click on tools.

Step 2. Click on Add-ons and search ImportExportTools NG. Then click on Add to Thunderbird and restart the Thunderbird application.

Step 3. Now from the left-hand pane select Local Folders so it is highlighted.

Step 4.  Navigate to Tools and click on ImportExportTools NG>Import MBOX files>Import directly one or more MBOX files.

Step 5. Select your exported MBOX file and click Open. In this way, you can add Office 365 email account to Office 365.
