Sending reported error (0x800CCC78): “Unable to send the message. Please verify the email address in your account properties. The server responded: 5.0.0. access denied.”
I restarted my system thinking that the error may get resolved, but got no success. Please help me out in resolving this error. ”

Method-2: Change Port Number to 587

Another possibility of getting “Outlook gives error 0x800ccc78 when sending email ” is that Port number has been changed by ISP, Change it by performing following steps:

  • Open Outlook Application. Click on Tools and Select Account Settings.
  • In Account Settings window, click on Change
  • Click on the More Settings on Add New E-mail Account and Click on Advanced tab.
  • You will see Port numbers of IMAP and SMTP, Set the port number 587 for Outgoing Server (SMTP) and Click Ok.
  • Click Next and the Finish.

Method-3: Repair PST File
