  • Users must have to use MS Outlook for Calendar, Tasks or Contacts management.
  • Users just have Calendar or Contacts from their smartphone available on the computer system and smartphone has the sync application for MS Outlook.
  • The user needs to keep all archive pst-files indexed but make sure do not connect to the main Mail profile at the same time
  • The user does not actually use MS Outlook but have PST data files that he/ she need to open.

For MS Outlook 2016

When you are using Outlook 2016, the “Welcome to Outlook” dialog box opens which represents adding an email account, although, there is not an option to skip this action. This will help to prevent a user to use Outlook without email account by mistake. Still, you can create Outlook Mail profile without email program in the following ways:

  • Go to Start Menu by selecting the Windows icon
  • Type the following command: outlook.exe /pim “No Account”

 


a) When you just start typing, a search box will appear automatically

Few Tricks for “No Account” Mail Profile

  • Connect to an existing Outlook PST file that you have already choose:

a) Go to File menu, click on Open & Export option
b) Then, you can Open Outlook Data File

a) Click on File, choose Account Settings>>Account Settings
b) Select the Data Files and then, use the following commands “Set as Default” and Remove”

  • Now, If you have the Mail Profile with the help of mail account, you can directly switch between Mail Profiles through below steps:

a) Click the File menu and choose Account Settings
b) Navigate to Change Profile option

 

  • When you have decided to add an email account then, you can follow given below points:
    Go to File and choose an option Add Account

For Previous Outlook versions

While using an existing version of MS Outlook, you can stop the creation of an email account when opening Outlook or creating the new Mail Profile, but you should quite persistent.

If a new Mail Profile is created through Mail applet in Control Panel or select the Profile dialog:

a) When Add Account dialog box gets open and click on Cancel button
b) You will be prompted whether you need to create profile & use Outlook without email account
c) After that, press OK button

  • Outlook will display the welcome screen and you wish to add an email account. Click Next.
  • You will be asked whether you want to configure Outlook to connect with mail account. Select No option and then, press Next button
  • You will notice that you add an email account and you have to confirm that is exactly what you like to do by choosing this option “Use Outlook without an email account”

  • Click on Finish button

Well, if you have the Mail Profile with an email account, you can easily switch between two Mail Profiles by closing MS Outlook and afterwards, you can use any method:

  • Go to Start icon and fill this “outlook.exe /profiles” inside the search box

  • After that, you can open a Mail Applet in Control Panel, navigate to the Show Profiles and enable “Prompt for a profile to be used “ option
