Step 1. Open Microsoft Teams on Your Browser: You need to go to teams.microsoft.com and sign in using your email account.

Step 2. Join or start your meeting: 

  • Go to the Teams dashboard 
  • Click on a scheduled meeting and click on Join, or
  • Start a quick call using Meet Now inside any Teams calendar

Step 3. Click the “More” menu: You will see inside the meeting toolbar at the top, there is a three-dots icon

Step 4. Select “Start Recording”: There will be a list of options; you need to click on Start recording.

Step 5. Stop the recording: Once the meeting is over.

Click on the More menu again and choose Stop recording.

Step 6. Access the recording after the meeting: You will find the recording inside:

  • Meeting chat
  • OneDrive > Recordings ( for normal meetings )
  • SharePoint > Channel > Recordings ( for channel meetings )

I find the desktop app the easiest place to start a recording. Here’s exactly how to record  Teams meeting on the desktop version:

Step 1. Open Microsoft Teams and join your meeting: 

  • You can either join a scheduled meeting from the Calendar
  • Start a quick session using Meet Now.

Step 2. Click on the “More” Options(…) Menu: Click on the three dots (…) also known as the More actions menu.

Step 3. Select “Start recording”: From the dropdown list, click Start recording.

Step 4. Stop the recording: Once the meeting ended, return to the More actions(…) menu and click on stop recording.

Step 5. Access the recording after the meeting: You will find the recording in one of the two locations:

  • In the meeting chat – Teams post the recording on the chat box just after the meeting ended.
  • In OneDrive or SharePoint – It depends on whether it was a private or a channel meeting.

  2. Tap the three dots at the bottom 
  3. Tap Start recording
