Steps to Split Large Mbox Files into Smaller Files

SysTools MBOX Splitter: Know How it Works!

Here, You can easily split Large MBOX into individual set of files.

Additional Requirement:

If you are unable to install this SysTools application, then before launching it, please make sure to update or install the Microsoft App Installer at your machine.

STEP 1

After you have completed downloading the software, now you can start the installation activity. Make selection as per your needs, from the languages appearing in the list: (English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Deutsch, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, Netherland, Danish, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Czech, Thai, Hindi, Bangla).

Now start and check all the steps of SysTools MBOX Splitter Tool. You will see the main screen of software as shown in below image.

The software will display a screen for "Check for Prerequisites".

If you are using Windows 11/10/8.1/7, then please launch tool as "Run as Administrator".

STEP 2

At First, "Download & Install" SysTools MBOX Splitter Tool.

Next, click on "Add File(s)" or "Add Folder" to add your MBOX file.

Then, select MBOX file from your system and hit Open button.

You can also add any folder containing MBOX file into the software. To do this, click on the "Add Folder" button. Then, select the folder from your system.

Now, the tool will show the MBOX file that you have added.

Also, here you have the option to remove any MBOX file if you want to. First, select the MBOX file on the Dashboard and then, just click on the "Remove" or "Remove All" button as per your needs.

Then, click on "Next" button to move further with the splitting process.

In this section, you will have multiple options to split MBOX. First one is "Split by Size". After selecting the option, specify your desired size in the additional settings. Lastly, don't forget to set the Destination Path. And finally, click on the "Split" button to split .mbox file.

In the "Split by Date" option, enter your preferred date and the tool will generate two MBOX files for you (one before the entered date and one after). Lastly, don't forget to set the Destination Path. And finally, click on the "Split" button to split .mbox file.

In the "Split by Date Range" option, enter the "From" and "To" dates to create file for the selected date range. Lastly, don't forget to set the Destination Path. And finally, click on the "Split" button to split .mbox file.

In the "Split by Year" option, enter the preferred year range in the "From" and "To" sections. Lastly, don't forget to set the Destination Path. And finally, click on the "Split" button to split .mbox file.

In the "Split by Sender" section, you get two options "Split by Specified Sender" or "Split by All Sender". Choose either option according to your preference. If more than one, you can sparate specified sender by comma and the tool will provide individual MBOX files as a result. Lastly, don't forget to set the Destination Path. And finally, click on the "Split" button to split .mbox file.

In the "Split by Sender" section, you get two options: "Split by Specified Subject" and "Split by All Subject". Choose either according to your preference. If more than one, separate subject lines by a comma and the tool will create individual resultant files. Lastly, don't forget to set the Destination Path. And finally, click on the "Split" button to split .mbox file.

After that, you will get a prompt that the Split process completed successfully.You click on the "OK" button.

At last, click on the "View Report" button to preview the respective report of the splitting process.
