A Step by Step Guide to convert corrupted, orphaned, and damaged OST Files
Using SysTools OST Converter Tool

You can safely Convert OST file into PST, EML, EMLX, MBOX, MSG, CSV, HTML, ICS, MHT, PDF, TXT, VCF.

STEP 1

Now start and check all the steps of SysTools Mac OST Converter. You will see the main screen of software as shown in below image:

Once the software is launched, You can browse OST file either by Add File or Add Folder option.

Navigate and select the OST file that you want to convert. After this click on Open button.

The software will list every OST file that has been browsed in step 3 and display each file's size. Apart from this, the tool provides two options to remove unwanted OST files.

After this, click on Next button.

Now Export window will appear, you can select any export option from the list and proceed to next step.

Select Any File Format to Export the Data

Export as PST Format

First click on "PST" radio button and after that Click on the "Advanced Settings" button as shown below:

Now, Provide the following settings for OST to PST Conversion:

Split PST: To Split all the resultant PST files using size to avoid oversize issues while importing these PST files. Provide a specific file size, software will create same size PST.

Apply Date Filter to convert only required OST files into PST format

Check the Data Range checkbox after that provide start and end date to include only selected emails in the conversion process.

Categories: Check and Uncheck option to export the specific components of the OST file such as mails, contacts, calendars, Tasks, Journals, Notes.

After that click on Save button to save all applied advance settings.

STEP 8

Click on the "Change" button to provide destination folder to save the resultant files.

Check "Maintain Folder Hierarchy" option to have same order of folders (with same name) as in source file in the resultant PST file generated.

Select the location as the final destination on the next window and click on "OK". Here you can either choose existing folder or create new folder.

The Path of the file selected will be displayed in the corresponding text box to the "Change" button.

After applying all the required options, click on the Export button.

The software will start the export process now. Wait till it completes to 100%.

Once the export process is complete, Then the following message would be prompted. Click on "OK".

The following window will show the success as well as fail count as follows. Here click on the View Report button to save report.

You can Open / Import resultant Outlook PST file/s in the MS Outlook 2019 / 2016 / 2013 / 2010 / 2007 versions as per your availability.

Export as MSG Format

Click on the "MSG" Radio button and click on the "Advanced Settings" button.

Now, You can provide various advanced settings for OST to MSG Conversion:

Naming Convention: You can select the naming convention for the final converted files such as subject, subject + date, etc.

Date filter option: You can provide the from date and to date interval in order to perform the selective export. Click on Add button.

Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars, task, journals and notes etc. After that click on Save button.

Click on the "Change" button.

Check "Maintain Folder Hierarchy" option to maintain same order of folders (with same name) as in source file (PST) in the resultant MSG file generated.

Now, Navigate to the required destination location folder to save the MSG file.

Click on the "OK" button.

The address location (path) of the selected destination folder will be displayed in the corresponding textbox of "change" button.

Click on "Export" button to start the conversion process.

Once the export process is complete, Then the following message would be prompted. Click on "OK".

Export as EML Format

Click on the "EML" Radio button and click on the "Advanced Settings" button.

On the Advanced settings you can specify the settings for OST to EML conversion:

Naming Convention: This refers to the naming scenario such as subject, subject + date, etc.

Date Filter Option: This refers to specifying the from date and to date to perform customized export for the files.

Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars. After that click on Save button.

On the previous menu, Click on the "Change" button.

Check "Maintain Folder Hierarchy" option to maintain same order of folders (with same name) as in source OST file in the resultant EML file generated.

Now, Navigate to the required destination location folder to save the EML file.

The generated Folder will contain the Inbox (EML is only for Emails) folder as that in the source file

Click on the "HTML" Radio button and click on the "Advanced Settings" button.

On the Advanced settings you can specify the settings for OST to HTML file conversion:

Naming Convention: You can select the naming convention for the final converted files such as subject, subject + date, etc.

Date filter option: You can provide the from date and to date interval in order to perform the selective export, Provide Start and End Date. Repeat same process to apply more then one date filters.

Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars, task, notes, journals, etc. After that click on Save button.

Click on the "MBOX" Radio button and click on the "Advanced Settings" button.

Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars, task, notes, journals, etc. After that click on Save button.

Export as PDF Format

Click on the "PDF" Radio button and click on the "Advanced Settings" button.

On the Advanced settings you can specify the settings for OST to PDF conversion, the software gives 4 different tabs for arranging your PDF file efficiently.

In General Settings option you will get the following settings.

Naming Convention: You can select the naming convention for the final converted files such as subject, subject + date, etc.

Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars, task, etc.

Date filter option: You can provide the from date and to date interval in order to perform the selective export.

Create A Single PDF File: This option will allows users to create a single PDF file for all emails in OST file.

Include Internet Message Header: Check this option if you need header information like sender, receiver, subject, etc.

In Page Layout option you will get the following settings.

  • Margin: It provides option to set Top, Bottom, Right, Left margin of each page with a minimum of 2.0mm to maximum of 10.0mm
  • Paper layout: In Paper layout settings, you can choose Paper Orientation and Page size.
  • You can choose Landscape or Portrait in Page Orientation and A3, A4, Letter for Page size as per requirement.
  • You can also add required text at the Header and Footer Section of the PDF file.

In Bates Number option you will get the following settings.

  • Bates Number Format: You can set Start Number, its Increment by value and its Position accordingly
  • Date Stamp: You can choose the Format and its Position as per requirement.

Once, You have specified all the settings, Click on the "Save" button.

Apply Advance Setting for Attachments:

  • Attachment on Pin: - It enables option to add attachments in PDF a pin.
  • Append Attachment: - It will convert attachments as PDF page and append at the end of email.
  • Save Attachment: - Apply this feature to save attachments in a folder in its original file format.In this feature you can apply Naming Convention feature also.

vCard Versions: You can select the vCard version (vCard 2.1, 3.0, and 4.0 ) as per your requirement

Create Single VCF: You can merge all contacts into single. Simply check the checkbox and click on Save button.

Click on the "Print" Radio button and click on the "Advanced Settings" button.

On the Advanced settings you can specify the settings for Print conversion, the software gives 4 different tabs for arranging your file efficiently.

In General Settings option you will get the following settings.

Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars, task, etc.

Date filter option: You can provide the from date and to date interval in order to perform the selective print.

Include Internet Message Header: Check this option if you need header information like sender, receiver, subject, etc.

Click on "Export" button to save the previewed items.

Press the Export button once all the settings are applied to Print the resultant file.

NOTE: Make sure that your Mac is connected to a printer.
