After downloading the software, start the installation process. You can select any language from the list (English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Deutsch, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, Netherland, Danish, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Czech, Thai) as per your requirement.
Go to Start » All Programs » SysTools® Windows Live Mail Converter » The first window of the software will appear:
Auto Detect the Storage Location allows you to detect the default data storage location of Windows Live Mail files. Select the option if you want to convert emails directly from Windows Live Mail.
Browse for the Storage Location allows you to manually locate the files (.eml) from any location of the machine. Choose the option if you have EML files at an orphan location.
Let’s proceed with Browse option.
Now the software will list all folder in the left panel. Software highlights the folders, which contains data files.
Select the folder which contains the WLM mail files. Once you select the folder, the emails will be visible in the right panel of software.
Normal Mail View: Select a particular Email to get a Normal Mail View of the e-mail data at the bottom pane.
Properties: Properties displays the additional information and other details of a selected emails.
Attachments: Preview Attachments present inside a particular email by clicking on the Attachments tab. It displays the list of attachments along with details present in the same & upon selection, the attachment is previewed on the bottom right corner.
Now after viewing complete details, you can convert either selected or complete WLM files or complete data
For Selected Email conversion: check the check-boxes and click on Export Selected button as highlighted. Also, you can right click on selected emails and then click on Export button.
Select Export Options
Click radio button corresponding to PST to convert Windows Live Mail EML files into PST file format and after that click on Advance Setting.
You can specify the following filters such as:
Split PST File: This allows the user to Split the resultant PST file according to specified size.
Date Filter Option: This allows the user to migrate specific data from the WLM storage folder.
Categories: It allows you to select the required data like, Emails, Contacts, Calendars. After that click on Save button.
Select folders from which you want to export emails. Select all folders for complete data conversion. After that click on Browse button to provide the location to save the resultant file.
Now click on New Folder button as highlighted to save exported data into new folder. You can also select existing folder. After that click on OK button.
Now apply required options like Maintain Folder Hierarchy, Don't Export Empty Folder, Ignore System Folders, etc. After that click on Export button.
Now the software will start the export process, you can view the export process details. Wait till it completes to 100%.
After completing the export process, the software will show you a successful message in new pop up window. Click on OK button.
Here the software will show you export report. View success count and fail count and click on Save button.
After that Provide the location to save the export report and click on Save button to save the export report in .csv format
Now, Select PDF radio button to export Windows Live Mail EML files into PDF file format. After that click on Advance Setting button.
In General Settings option you will get the following settings.
Naming Convention: This refers to the naming of the final converted files such as by Subject+Date, From+Subject+Date, Autoincrement, etc.
Categories: This includes the mails, contacts, calendars, task, etc.
Date Filter Option:: This is the filter that can be used to filter out the final files as per the date filter.
You can also check the Include Internet Message Header checkbox.
Apply setting for Page Layout.
In Page Layout option you will get the following settings.
- Margin: It provides option to set Top, Bottom, Right, Left margin of each page with a minimum of 2.0mm to maximum of 10.0mm
- Paper layout: In Paper layout settings, you can choose Paper Orientation and Page size.
- You can choose Landscape or Portrait in Page Orientation and A3, A4, Letter for Page size as per requirement.
- You can also add required text at the Header and Footer Section of the PDF file.
Apply Advance Setting for Attachments:
- Attachment on Pin: - It enables option to add attachments in PDF a pin.
- Append Attachment: - It will convert attachments as PDF page and append at the end of email.
- Save Attachment: - Apply this feature to save attachments in a folder in its original file format.In this feature you can apply Naming Convention feature also.
Apply Bates Number to your page while exporting to PDF format.
Bates Number Format: You can apply page number and other formatting like, Start Number, Increment By, and Position.
Date Stamp: You can also apply date stamp and choose preferred position.
Select folders from which you want to export emails. Select all folders for complete data conversion. After that click on Browse button to provide the location to save the resultant file.
Now click on New Folder button as highlighted to save exported data into new folder. You can also select existing folder. After that click on OK button.
Now apply required options like Maintain Folder Hierarchy, Don't Export Empty Folder, Ignore System Folders, etc. After that click on Export button.
Now the software will start the export process, you can view the export process details. Wait till it completes to 100%.
After completing the export process, the software will show you a successful message in new pop up window. Click on OK button.

Now the software will validate the provided credentils, See the right check.
General Settings Click on Date Filter option and provide From Date to To Date.
Categories Option to select required categories like Mails, Contacts, Calendars.
You can right check After validating the user account.
Now apply required options like Maintain Folder Hierarchy, Don't Export Empty Folder, Ignore System Folders, etc. After that click on Export button.
Now the software will start the export process, you can view the export process details. Wait till it completes to 100%
After completing the export process, the software will show you a successful message in new pop up window. Click on OK button.
Here the software will show you export report. View success count and fail count and click on Save button.

You can specify the following options such as:
General Settings Click on Date Filter option and provide From Date to To Date.
Categories Option to select required categories like Mails, Contacts, Calendars and click on Save button.
You can right check After validating the user account.
Now apply required options like Maintain Folder Hierarchy, Don't Export Empty Folder, Ignore System Folders, etc. After that click on Export button.
Now the software will start the export process, you can view the export process details. Wait till it completes to 100%
After completing the export process, the software will show you a successful message in new pop up window. Click on OK button.
