Simple Steps to Split & Merge PDF Files Using the PDF Split & Merge Software

STEP 1

Launch the “SysTools PDF Split & Merge” software & check the Split Option

Click "Add Files" to add multiple PDF files or "Add Folder" to add the complete folder containing several PDF files.

Check “Skip Attachment” option only if you want to skip attachments from the output PDF file.

Now, Enter the Password for your respective password protected PDF files in the "Password" column.

Click on the Next button to move ahead. If you do not enter PDF password, the software will display a prompt screen as an alert.

STEP 3

The software provides six options for splitting PDF files. Choose Split PDF option as per your convenience.

Select the Split by Page radio button and specify the page to be split.

Simply enter the page number to split the PDF files by page. Also, seperate them with commas, in case of multiple PDF files.

Click on the "Change" button to browse the destination path

Browse the folder where you want to save resultant PDF files

Now, Click on the "Split" button to get the process started

Now, the software starts the PDF splitting process. Initially, the “Status” will be In Progress”. After the process completion, it will be changed to “Completed”

Once the process is completed, Following prompt will appear “The PDF files have been splitted successfully”

The software will display Total file count & total percentage. Also, if you want to stop the process in between the click on “Stop” button”

Now, click on OK button

Now, navigate towards the destination location & view the PDF files & export report containing details like (source path, success count and fail count)

Select the Split by Page Range radio button and specify the page to be split.

Simply enter the page range to split the PDF files by range. Also, seperate them with commas, in case of multiple PDF files.

Note: If the specified size is large than the PDF file size then software will not split PDF according to size. (For example: If the file is 23 KB & you specify the “Split by Size” as 2 MB then in such case the tool will not split PDF documents.)

Note: If you want to skip attachments from the output PDF file check “Skip Attachment” option

After adding the PDF File click on the Next button

Note: If your PDF file is password protected and you want to merge it with other files then, enter the respective PDF password in the “Password” column otherwise skip.

The software provides 2 PDF Merge Options. Choose any PDF Merge option as per your convenience

Select the “Split Merged PDF by Size” option to split the resultant merged PDF document according to the specific size. Also, enter the specific size in the text box.

Here, you will see two options for Destination Path

Create New PDF

Under the “Destination Path” options select "Create New PDF" to create a new PDF file (merged file) on your system.

Click on Browse folder and select the destination location

Merge in Existing PDF

You can also select the option as “Merge in Existing PDF” to combine PDF files with an existing PDF file.

Click on Change button & select the existing PDF in which you want to merge other files

Select “Merge PDF by Range” button & enter the desired range (here we gave input: 1-2 4-5,, 1-2) (with this the tool will merge 1 to 2 & 4 to 5 pages of 1st PDF, all pages of 2nd PDF and 1 to 2 pages of 3rd PDF)
