Steps to Operate Thunderbird Import Wizard

Now, you can specify the Optional filters for importing data from the added files.

To Apply filters click on the corresponding radio button to “Apply Filters” text and click on the button “Set”.

Now select the date filter according to which the data is to be imported.

Note: The date filter is applied according to the received date of emails.

The software will automatically show all profile's that are configured on the Thunderbird application

Select the identity from identities dropdown list in which you want to import MBOX/MBS, MBX, EML, EMLX, Maildir files.

For Example: This Thunderbird having 4 different identities. Each identity contains different email address.

• Default-release: Thunderbird by default creates identity by Default-release name.
• Mack John: Another Identity Created by User, it also contains different email IDs.
• Default: It is system generated identity and it can also contains different email IDs.
• abc: Another Identity Created by User, it also contains different email IDs.

Note: When selecting any identity, then make sure the thunderbird should be configure with any email acount or local profile else it will display the message "The selected profile is not configured. Please configure an email account".

Then select the Email Account to Import.

• Choose Email Address to Import the data in it. Tool will create new folder along with default folders with same name of browse data file name.
• Choose Local Folder option to add the data under the Local Folder ith default folders with same name of browse data file name.

Note: Importing data inside an IMAP account is not allowed by Thunderbird. Please select a POP Account or Local Folder.

If you select an IMAP account to import, the tool will prompt the below-given message.

Choose Maintain Folder Hierarchy to maintain the on-disk folder hierarchy of the imported files.

Click on “Import” to start the import process.

The Import process will be completed successfully with a success message, Click on “OK” as shown below:

Once the import process is complete then you can very easily Save the Report containing all the information regarding the import process.

Now navigate to the location and save the final report.

Now, Click on “OK” as the process is complete. Select if you want to continue to import more MBOX/EML/EMLX/Maildir files as per your preference.

You can view the Report of the import process with details: File Path, Number of Mails imported, Size of the File, Duration & Status of Report.

Find your imported files in your thunderbird profile

If not able to find your data. Then follow below steps:

• Close Thunderbird and Go to Run window and type thunderbird -p and hit OK button.
  
• Select the same identity that you select in Setp 6 and launch the Thunderbird.
