Steps to Operate Thunderbird Import Wizard

Simple Steps to Import Multiple MBOX/MBS, MBX, EML, EMLX, Maildir Files into Thunderbird Profile/Folder with Proper On-Disk Folder Hierarchy

STEP 1

Launch the “SysTools Thunderbird Import Wizard” software. The user interface of the software is as follows:

Now, click on the “Add File(s)” button button to import a single MBOX/MBS, MBX, EML, EMLX, Maildir file into the software.

Browse and select the specific file that is to be added to the software and click on the “Open” button.

Once a file has been added, the software will show the file on its interface. You can add more files or simply click on Next button to continue.

Select "Add Folder" to import multiple MBOX/MBS, MBX, EML, EMLX, Maildir files stored within a folder into the application

Select the Specific folder that is to be added and contains all the MBOX/EML/EMLX/Maildir files. Click on the “OK” button..

Once a folder has been added, the software will show all the added files in the folder, Click on “Next” button.

Note: The Remove button can be used to remove the added files one at a time.

STEP 5

Now, you can specify the Optional filters for importing data from the added files.

To Apply filters click on the corresponding radio button to “Apply Filters” text and click on the button “Set”.

Now select the date filter according to which the data is to be imported.

Note: The date filter is applied according to the received date of emails.

The software will automatically show all profile's that are configured on the Thunderbird application

Select the identity from identities dropdown list in which you want to import MBOX/MBS, MBX, EML, EMLX, Maildir files.

For Example: This Thunderbird having 4 different identities. Each identity contains different email address.

Note: When selecting any identity, then make sure the thunderbird should be configure with any email acount or local profile else it will display the message "The selected profile is not configured. Please configure an email account".

STEP 7

Then select the Email Account to Import.

Note: Importing data inside an IMAP account is not allowed by Thunderbird. Please select a POP Account or Local Folder.

If you select an IMAP account to import, the tool will prompt the below-given message.

Choose Maintain Folder Hierarchy to maintain the on-disk folder hierarchy of the imported files.

Click on “Import” to start the import process.

The Import process will be completed successfully with a success message, Click on “OK” as shown below:

Once the import process is complete then you can very easily Save the Report containing all the information regarding the import process.

Now navigate to the location and save the final report.

Now, Click on “OK” as the process is complete. Select if you want to continue to import more MBOX/EML/EMLX/Maildir files as per your preference.

You can view the Report of the import process with details: File Path, Number of Mails imported, Size of the File, Duration & Status of Report.

Find your imported files in your thunderbird profile
