While creating the new Exchange Server user have to make sure that the name of the new server is the same as the old one, configure the hardware and software & the server should be run on the same version of Windows Server.

The size, drive letter and SSL/TLS in the new Exchange Server must be the same as the failed server. If the lost sever is having these certificate then the only user need to add it in the new server, other there is no need to set up these certificate.

Then Install the Exchange Server Pre-requisites on the New Server:

1. Execute the given command to install the Remote Tools Administration Pack

Install-WindowsFeature RSAT-ADDS

2. Import-Module ServerManager

3. Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,RSAT-Web-Server -Restart

Note: Users have to set up and execute all these commands before running the Setup /m:RecoverServer command.

When the prerequisites were installed the server will restart, then the user have to insert and run this Setup m:RecoverServer command. If users getting the error again, they have to use the next method to solve the error.

Using ADSI Editor to Fix the Error “Server Is Not Found In Active Directory. Server Must Be Present In Active Directory To Recover”

Note: It is recommended to take the database backup of the Old Server. This editor helps the user to solve the error but they have to be careful and keep focus while using it. If any mistake is made by the user then it will create more issues or problems.

Follow the steps to fix the problem

Step 1: Login to the DC (Domain Controller) as Administrator

For this user have to be a member of Domain Admin or Enterprise

Step 2: Open Run by pressing Windows + R > Write adsiedit.msc > Click OK

Step 3: Select “Action” > Connect to > Click the radio button “Select a well know naming context”

Step 4: Select configuration from the drop-down list

Step 7: From the right-hand side, select the Exchange Server and Delete the server

Step 8: Go to CN=Configuration [domain], DC=COM> CN=Services> CN=Microsoft Exchange> CN=OrganisationName> CN=Administrative Groups>CN=Databases

Step 9: From the right pane delete all database of old Exchange Server
