Use Shared With Me to Sync Two Google Drive Accounts

The Share with me feature allows you to share files with another person. This allows real-time collaboration when you set editor permissions. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Sign in to your Google Drive account and create a new folder.
  2. The files or folders you want to sync, drag and drop them to a new folder.
  3. Right-click the folder and select the Share button.
  4. Provide the username of your second Google Drive account.
  5. Set the permission and then click Send or Done.
  6. Go to the second Google Drive account in a different browser.
  7. In the left sidebar, click on Shared with me.
  8. Find the folder that you have just shared.
  9. Right-click the shared folder, select the Organize button.
  10. Add a shortcut to Drive and choose a location in the MyDrive. Press the Add button.

Instructions for the Software

  1. Download and install the software.

  2. Choose the G Suite option as a source and destination. Then, hit the Next button.

  3. Choose the Document option from the Workload selection. Click on the Migrate document permission and Use Group Mapping button.

  5. From the Source section, enter Admin Email, Service Account, and Certificate File details of your Google account. Hit the Validate button to check the permission.

  6. In the destination section, provide the Admin Email, Service Account, and Certificate File details of your destination account. Click the Validate button to verify the permission.

  7. To add the users, either click on Fetch Users to automatically fetch the account.

  8. To manually upload the users, download the template, enter the source user ID, and the destination. Save them into a CSV file.
  9. Submit the file by clicking Import Users.
  10. You can set a priority for the user and then click the Start Migration button.
