How to Solve “Unable To Mount Database EC=1011 ” Error? Get Solution

Hlo folks! I am trying to restore the Microsoft Exchange 2010 mailbox into a Recovery Storage Group but when we try to mount the Exchange database it isn’t mounting. It is an MS Exchange Server 2010 sp1 where the Database Availability Group (DAG) is setup for failover and it display the error which states that unable to mount database (hr=0x80004005, ec=1011). Please help me know the solution to fix the this error.

Solution to Solve Error “Unable to Mount Database EC=1011”

After receiving this error, the first and foremost thing that you should check the state of the database by using the eseutil /mh cmdlet give below to see that it is in dirty or clean shutdown state.

If it is in Exchange dirty shutdown state then users have to bring it back into clean shutdown to mount the database properly. For that, first you have to run the Exchange PowerShell eseutil /r command given below to perform soft recovery Exchange database 2010.

Repair EDB

Again check the state of the mailbox database after performing soft repair. If it still shows the database in dirty shutdown then the last option you have left is to use the eseutil /p command to perform hard recovery but if the database bring back into clean shutdown, then users can directly mount the Exchange database without using the command given below:

According to the number of mailboxes and corruption level, this process consumes time and it is not sure that the database will mount. After that defrag Exchange mailbox database. Then run the command given in the below section to fix the logical corruption & repair the Exchange database at the application level.

After performing the given solution the database is in clean state. Now users can use the following steps to mount Exchange database.

Step 1: Open the EMC (Exchange Management Console) > Click on the Organization > Mailbox

Step 2: Open mailbox properties > Click on the maintenance tab
