How to Backup IMAP Emails to PST, PDF, MBOX, HTML, EML, TXT, EMLX & MSG, CSV & MHT


Using SysTools IMAP Backup Software for Mac

Application Pre-Requisites

  • Enable "Less Secure Apps and IMAP" before IMAP Backup Process - Read More
STEP 1

Click on Finder » Applications » SysTools Mac IMAP Backup Software.

ldif file

Once the software is launched, then, choose the IMAP Host domain.

If your IMAP host domain is not listed. Then you can choose Other and enter the IMAP details manually.

Provide the selected Account's Credentials like: Email & Password. The software fills IMAP Server & Port No. automatically.

Select the Login button to load your account details in the software

STEP 4

Backup IMAP Emails in PST Format

Select the radio button corresponding to "PST" labelled text.

Afterwards, click on the checkbox besides "Advance Settings"

You can specify the following filters and click on Save.

  • Split Option: This filter can be used to split the PST file into desirable smaller parts.
  • Date filter: This is the filter that can be used to filter out the final msg files as per the date filter.

Delete After Download: To delete emails from the server once the process is completed successfully.

Incremental Backup: If you have backed up your account earlier, then incremental backup option window will pop-up. Depending on your choice, you can select Yes or No option.

General Settings

  • Naming Convention: This refers to the naming of the final converted files such as by Subject+Date, From+Subject+Date, Autoincrement, etc.
  • Date Filter: This is the filter that can be used to filter out the final msg files as per the date filter.
  • You can also check the Include Internet Message Header checkbox.

  • Margin: The software provides advance option to apply page margin. Which can be applied in range of Minimum 2.0 mm and Maximum 10.0 mm
  • Page Layout: Use this option to use Paper Orientation and Page Size

Bates Number

  • Bates Number Format: You can apply page number and other formatting like, Start Number, Increment By, and Position.
  • Date Stamp: You can also apply date stamp and choose preferred position.
