Setup Twitter Account in Thunderbird

To Preview Twitter Timeline within Thunderbird, firstly open Thunderbird.

  • Go to Tools &  Select Chat Status. Under this option Choose Show Account

  • Now Select New Account present at the left-below corner of the “Instant Messaging Status” window

  • A new Chat Account Wizard window pops up. Here Choose Twitter option & Click on Next button

  • Now Enter your Twitter Account Username & proceed

  • Within Advanced Option, you can add any Local Alias Name or skip for further procedure

  • A window displaying Network & Username appears for confirmation of details. Then Click on Finish

  • Now it redirects you the twitter domain, here all you need is to enter your password & Click on Authorize app to Continue

  • After Successful Login, you can preview your Twitter account integrated with Thunderbird with Green login icon

  • You can access your Twitter Timeline on Chat icon on Thunderbird Main window & access timeline as shown below :

Manually Integrate Thunderbird with Google Talk

  • On the top of Thunderbird window, click on the File menu, select the New option and then, go to Chat Account option

 

  • Now, you should enter the Username:

  • After that, you will also have to enter Password for the service.


Advanced Options: This option is not generally needed, so just click on Next button.

  • Finish the Wizard screen
  • Next, the Summary screen will be shown in front of you. Click on Finish to complete the process to
  • Integrate Thunderbird with Google Talk and then, start chatting

  • Connect to the Chat Account

  • Make sure that you are online by clicking on Chat Status and connecting:
    a) click on Tools, select Chat status and then, choose Show Accounts…
    b) click on Connect next to the account that you wish to go online with
  • Use Chat Tab to start & join all conversations
  • Click on Chat Tab and go to the Write Tab to start and join all the conversations
  • Chat is included in Search field
  • Like any other Thunderbird account for e.g., email and RSS, Chat will be integrated with search.
