STEP 4

Navigate to the "Source" tab. From the "IMAP Server" dropdown, select your email provider, i.e. Amazon WorkMail. The corresponding "IMAP Server Url" and "Port Number" will be automatically populated.

Select IMAP Server

Once you select Amazon WorkMail from the IMAP Server dropdown, the tool will automatically fetch and populate the IMAP Server URL and Port Number fields.

IMAP Server ports

By default, the tool automatically fetches the IMAP server as US East (N. Virginia): imap.mail.us-east-1.awsapps.comwhen you select Amazon WorkMail.

However, if your Amazon WorkMail account is hosted in a different region, you need to configure it manually. In that case, select the “Other” option from the IMAP Server dropdown.

other option

Afterwards, enter the appropriate IMAP Server URL based on your region, such as:

  • US West (Oregon): imap.mail.us-west-2.awsapps.com
  • US East (N. Virginia): imap.mail.us-east-1.awsapps.com
  • Europe (Ireland): imap.mail.eu-west-1.awsapps.com

Now, enter the following details:

  • IMAP Server Name: (as per region above)
  • Port Number: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS (recommended)

port validation

Make sure to also enter the correct port number as specified by your email provider.

Click the "Validate" button to ensure your IMAP server credentials and permissions are correct. Once successfully validated, green checkmarks will confirm "Read User" and "Read Email" permissions. Click Next.

STEP 5

Now, on the "Destination" tab, specify the "Backup folder path" where your Outlook PST files will be saved.

Backup Folder Path

Click the folder icon to browse and select your preferred destination folder, then click "Select Folder" in the file explorer dialog.

Browse Folder

From the "File size (in GB)" dropdown menu, select your preferred maximum size for the resultant PST file(s). By default, the value is 40 GB. This setting determines if your backup will be split into multiple PST files if the data exceeds the specified size.

Select PST Size

  • For example, if you have 11 GB of data to backup and you have selected a 10 GB PST size. Then the software will create 2 PST files, one with 10 GB and another with the remaining 1 GB of data.
  • As long as the backed up data (11 GB), is less than the partition size (20, 30, or 40 GB), you will get a single PST file of original size.
  • If you have large mailbox data to backup (let’s say 200 GB), and if you select the 40 GB partition size. The tool will automatically split the data and create five separate 40 GB PST files (5 * 40 = 200 GB).

Click on the "Validate" button to ensure appropriate file system permissions are assigned to your chosen destination folder.
