Targeted Public Folder Workload

The dedicated Public Folder Workload selection check box ensures that your migration is precise. Once you select Microsoft 365 as both the source and destination, scroll down to the end of the workload selection area. There, you can tick mark "Public Folders" for migration. The Public folder email box is pre-selected by default. The tool makes sure that only necessary data is processed, making the migration efficient and focused.

Flexible Resource Mapping

Migrate Security Group Permissions

Use this tool to preserve the security characteristics of the Public folder when you move it across two different Office 365 domains. Toggle the "Migrate Public Folder permissions" switch to carry over all folder-level permissions for Office 365 Security Groups from the source to the destination Microsoft 365 account.

Timestamp Public Folder Migration

While moving public folders to Office 365 via the SysTools Public Folder migration tool, you can apply the start date and end date as well. Do this to lock the migration within a specific admin-defined time frame and reduce the long and unnecessary duration. Also, improve storage space efficiency by excluding older, irrelevant items.

Pre-Migration Validation

To ensure zero error during public folder migration, the tool performs “validation” of both the source and the target details. Both the email address and the application ID are checked, and only when the proper permissions are found does the tool migrate. A second layer of user-account-level permission validation is also done for all mapped resources.

Controlled Public Folder Migration

IT admins have full control over the entire migration cycle. They can "Start" and "Stop" the migration at any time. For subsequent runs, the tool contains 3 advanced rerun options: "Retry Failed Items" to process the items that failed previously, "Re-Run Full Migration" to re-migrate everything, and "Delta Migration" to sync only the new data that arrived since the last migration.

Monitoring and Reporting

Keep track of the entire process through the "Status" tab, which filters items by "Pending," "In Progress," and "Completed." After the migration finishes, you can download a "Migration Summary Report" for a high-level overview or a "Detailed Report" in CSV format for a granular, item-by-item analysis of the entire operation, including status and size.

On-the-Fly Folder Creation

The migrator simplifies the setup at the destination. From the "Public Folders" resource tab, you can select source folders and use the "Create Folder" button to provision them in the destination tenant before starting the Public Folder migration. This ensures the target folder structure is ready to receive data, streamlining the entire process.
