Shortcomings and Limitations

Limitation Reason
Special Characters in Folders HCL Notes does not support pipe (|), backslash (\), or parentheses (). These are replaced with "_".
Case Sensitivity Folders with same name but different case (e.g., "ABC" vs "abc") are treated as duplicates because HCL Notes is case-insensitive.
Calendar Occurrences HCL Notes displays only the first 300 instances of a recurring event; further instances are ignored.
Folder Hierarchy Sub-level folders may move to root if hierarchy length exceeds 128 bytes.
Folder Visibility Calendar and Contact folders appear under the Email tab as HCL Notes does not support folder creation in Calendar/Contact tabs.
Legacy Addresses (IMCEAEX) Unresolved legacy addresses migrate in IMCEAEX format if the sender's cache references an old X.500 address.

API

The application uses HCL C API version 12 and Microsoft EWS for data access and migration.
