Know How to Convert Lotus Notes to Outlook?

Pre Requisite

The Migration Process

The working of Export Notes is very easy, just select desired NSF file only and follow Next-2 Approach. Selected file will be converted completely within minutes.

STEP 1

Launch the software "Export Notes", The software interface of the software will appear as follows:

Start the Software & browse NSF File from your system & click Browse to proceed.

Navigate and select the NSF file and click on "Open" button.

The location of the file will be displayed as follows corresponding to the Browse button.

Now, Navigate and select the Lotus Notes contact file i.e. names.nsf by clicking on the "Browse" button as shown below:

Select the Names.nsf contact file of Lotus Notes.

Export Options:

  • If you want to convert Lotus Notes contacts into a separate PST file, then choose the "Migrate Contacts into Single PST File"

  • To export the selected folder, Check the "Export Selected Folder" option & click the Select Folder option.

Select the required folder to Export & click on Apply button.

  • Map CN values with SMTP address:
    • CN value: This comprises of information like the user, the server, or the group names gets saved into a specialized text format called Canonical Names format.
    • SMTP Address: This is the address used in the SMTP server that takes care of all mail delivery system. Every mailing system has a separate SMTP address.

Now back on the previous screen check mark the check box corresponding to the label text "Map CN values with SMTP address to selected names.nsf files"

Click on the "Next" button.


STEP 8

Next screen is to select the Categories which you want to Export. You can apply the filter for each category.

On the "Mails" option. Select the filters radio button and click on the "Set" button.

Now, On the date filter provide the date interval according to which the mails will be exported.

Click on "Apply" button.

You can remove the duplicate contacts by selecting the option: "Exclude Duplicate Contacts" & click on "Set" button

Apply the required filters (First Name, Mail Address, Mobile Number etc.) for removing duplicate Contacts. Click on the "Apply" button.

On the Calendar option, Click on the Apply filters radio button. Click on the "Set" button.

Now, provide the date interval according to which the calendars are to be exported. Click on the "Apply" button.

Now choose the Advanced Settings for successful Lotus Notes migration.
HTML Formatting - This option lets you maintain all HTML formatting of emails during the process of its conversion.
Internet Header – This option maintain the sent or received email header.
Remove Encryption - This option let you remove the encryption of mails
All Documents – Allow all document view mail items to be migrated into PST.
Doclink – Allow to maintain Doclink of mails.

To convert the canonical name, that you have defined in Lotus Notes, into the Outlook SMTP format, then select the required naming convention

Then enter the domain name for the SMTP translation with respect to the canonical name.

You can also map the Lotus Notes default generated folder with your Outlook default folder name.

Then click on Apply to save all the Advanced settings

The file will be saved successfully.

Split PST option is provided to split your large file according to Size. The file could be splitted into GB or MB.
You can also change the default saving location (after file conversion) by clicking on Change button

Navigate and select the location for the final export process.

View the Export Report that is automatically generated by the Software. The report contain the folder count.
